The plans have been approved.
The builder is picking up the permits today.
We need to schedule a pre-construction meeting and then we will be ready to roll!

Room Redux
Still Waiting. . .
No updates.
We are anxiously awaiting having these plans back from the township but havn't heard anything in a week.
I would assume we would know some more by the end of this week at the latest.

project table
Project room

We have decided that the front room of our new house will be a project room.
We have previously used the "living room" area as a play room. It was good space for the kids to play but seemed so cluttered with toys it served more as a storage area and then they would bring toys they wanted to play with to the "family room".
Now that we are going to make the front room the project room, the kids area will be moved to the basement. At first it won't be finished but we will get to that. The space will be 26x36. That is a huge space! They will be able to ride their bikes down there.
I want our space to look like this. : )

cabinets and countertops

I was able to find pictures on the web of the choices we made for our kitchen cabinet and countertop. I don't think you can really get the feel of what they truly are with these pictures.
The countertop are a Formica called Butter Rum Granite with an Etchings finish. It looks a lot like a granite with browns and blacks and the brown has a little bit of sparkle to it.
The cabinets are by Wellborn. The relief is a square shape and they are a medium Maple color.
I am still looking for the flooring to give you the full effect.

Selection Room

It has been a while since I updated here and there has been a ton that has happened.
The week before Christmas while DH was off, we went down to the selection room and we chose everything in our house. I am not exaggerating when I say everything.
We chose soffits, gutters, siding color, shutter color, front door color, kitchen everything, bathroom everythings, carpet, hardwood, vinyl, on and on. It took us two days and we were finally done. I want to get back in to the selection room to see if I can take photos of some of the main things we chose so that I have them with me for decorating and to share.
I did start to buy a few things for the house. We have decided we are going to do our Master Bedroom first this time. We have always done it last in the past and it just becomes this holding place where things pile up and we just can’t stand our room. I don’t want that this time. I want it to be a place where we can go and just hang out and enjoy our own space. Let the rest of the house be the holding place. The kids have every other space. We need something of our own.
So in Pottery Barn’s latest catalog I found some bedding for our room that I really like. I think for our bedroom and bathroom I am going for a beachy feel. That is a place we both really love and if given an opportunity to go anywhere we would always choose the beach! I think that will make our room and bathroom feel more like us.
The pictures are of the bedding I bought for our room, a papertowel holder that was on sale, and an “EAT” sign for the kitchen/dining room. The papertowel holder works so well because all of our cabinet pulls and lighting in the downstairs is going to be black wrought iron. I couldn’t resist.
